Hi there! I’m Meg and I’m so glad you stopped by!
Growing up, I was always wanting to learn new things (still am!) and I would learn, and practice and do all I could to master the skill whether it was sports, crafts, academics, cooking, the list goes on and on. One thing that always stuck around was reading. I love getting sucked into a good book. It’s mostly the cozy, heartwarming, romance-y kind, but when I would learn new things, I was always looking for good reference books to help me learn more and more about what my interest was at the time.
It wasn’t until I was an adult, in the real world, deep into my career, that my therapist kindly pointed out to me that what I had been doing for so many years (which is completely normal!) was a coping mechanism for the high anxiety I was feeling in my everyday life. She labeled it “self-care”. This was a new term for me and by now I’ve completely embraced it! Learning and creating and attempting to perfect a new skill took my mind away from the pressures and stress I was feeling during my normal everyday routines. It gave me a creative outlet to expand my interests, learn new things, and keep my self busy and away from things that would overwhelm me.
I decided to start this blog as a way to share my adventures through books of all kinds: mostly novels, but also cookbooks, craft books, decor books, et cetera – showcasing new ways to find pieces of joy in your every day. It’s also become a creative oulet for me to collect my love for different things into one place.
